Who Are We?

213 Technic is a dynamic community founded by university friends who came together with a shared dream; working on rocket technologies, engineering projects, and innovative applications. Since our establishment, we have designed, developed, and launched many rockets; continuously growing our experience by achieving significant rankings in national and international competitions we participated in.

Today, 213 Technic is not just a student team; it is a hybrid structure that embraces both team spirit and corporate work discipline. We conduct our projects with professional standards, managing all processes from production to analysis, from testing to reporting, like a real engineering organization.

Our team consists of numerous sub-disciplines such as structural design, aerodynamics, avionics, propulsion systems, software, manufacturing technologies, mission design, testing, and operations. While each field demonstrates its own expertise, we all work for the same goal: developing stronger, more efficient, and more advanced engineering product systems.

As 213 Technic, we have a strong accumulation of experience; however, our greatest value is our curiosity for learning and our structure that is not afraid to try. We are a team open to innovative ideas, quickly adapting to technological developments and eager to test previously untried solutions. Because we believe that progress is possible with an exploratory spirit that knows no bounds.

Sustainability is also one of the cornerstones of our culture. We work with environmentally friendly materials, more efficient systems, and a clean rocketry approach; we act with a sense of responsibility towards the future. We aim to develop technology not only for today but also for tomorrow.

In line with all these values, our goal is to transfer the knowledge and experience we have gained to the new generation of curious engineers, and to be a community that guides everyone who has a passion for learning and producing. 213 Technic is a team that renews itself every day, grows, and prepares to fly even further forward.

MILLENNIUM MK-I

The Millennium Rocket is designed for flight in the transonic regime with its lightweight and durable structure.
The fuselage and nose cone are made of balsa wood due to its low density. In order to increase structural strength, fiberglass is coated on the balsa and reinforced with epoxy resin. The fins are also of the same composite structure. Thanks to this combination of materials, the rocket can operate safely at high altitudes that push the limits of the troposphere.

  • It provides an advantage against pressure changes in the transonic regime: Thanks to its low density, it reduces the mass of the rocket while accelerating at high speeds, minimizing the aerodynamic loads on the structure.
  • It offers low drag with the ogive form in the nose cone: Thanks to the shapeability of Balsa, precise aerodynamic profiles can be easily created.
  • It supports fuel efficiency when climbing to the upper limit of the troposphere: It allows the rocket to reach higher altitudes with less mass.

Model Rocket Performance Analysis Platform (IEEE Aerospace Conference)

The Model Rocket Performance Analysis Platform software we developed to measure and optimize the performance of model rockets is one of the most advanced steps in the software field of our R&D studies.
The platform was designed to collect rocket flight data in real-time, compare it with simulation results, and perform performance analyses. The software enables engineers and researchers to examine rocket speed, altitude, acceleration, and energy data in detail.
The paper we prepared within the scope of this project was accepted by the IEEE Aerospace Conference and showcased 213 Technic's software and engineering competence on the international academic platform. The project demonstrates the integration of our R&D-focused approach in both software and engineering fields.

Riblet Surface Structures in Rockets

As 213 Technic, we researched and applied riblet surface designs to increase the aerodynamic performance of rockets and reduce friction losses. Riblet structures are advanced engineering solutions that reduce surface friction by creating small microchannels or protrusions.
In this project, we tested the applicability of riblet structures to different surface types and collected performance data on various model rockets. The results showed that friction resistance decreased significantly during flight and the rocket's speed and altitude performance improved.
This project not only developed our engineering and design skills but also demonstrated our ability to develop innovative aerodynamic solutions and design high-performance systems. Riblet surface technology will continue to be used as a fundamental performance improvement approach for our future rocket and aircraft projects.

Solar Energy Systems in Rockets

In traditional rockets, energy management is a critical element in terms of sensors, data collection, and flight duration. As 213 Technic, we developed integrated solar energy systems to solve this need and enable rockets to operate for longer periods and more independently.
In this project, energy production is provided during flight with lightweight and efficient solar panels integrated into the rocket body. The energy obtained is used to power telemetry systems, collect data, and operate sensors. Our energy management system was supported by software that automatically optimizes power distribution according to sunlight.
Thanks to the solar energy system project, our rockets became both environmentally friendly and their operational lifespan and data collection capacity were significantly increased. This work is a concrete example of 213 Technic's vision of developing sustainable and innovative technologies.

Television Program and Our Media Visibility

As 213 Technic, we appeared on television programs and news bulletins to announce Turkey's work in the field of technology and innovation to wide audiences. This visibility enabled our team to make a difference not only in the university and competition arena but also in society at large.
Our television participation gave our team the opportunity to share our R&D projects, innovative engineering solutions, and startup vision directly with the audience. In the program, we explained our projects such as the Millennium Rocket, riblet surface technologies, solar energy systems, and Model Rocket Performance Analysis Platform in detail. In this way, we inspired a wide audience interested in technology and aviation.
The participation process also provided a communication and media experience for 213 Technic. As a team, we learned to convey our technical knowledge in a simple and understandable way, introduce innovative projects, and create social awareness. Additionally, this experience is of great importance in terms of spreading social consciousness and technology culture.
Our visibility on television is an important milestone that shows that 213 Technic is not just an engineering and technology company; it is also a brand that motivates young people in science, technology, and innovation, and interacts with society.
